Dôme

Slightly tucked away in a striking late-19th-century building in a back street of lovely Zurenborg, Dôme offers adventurous contemporary French cuisine (a Michelin star in 2021) under a magnificent dome. Originally the domain of Paris-trained chef Julien Burlat — created with stylist Sophie Verbeke (ex-Dries Van Noten) and architect Paul Wauters — Dôme is now overseen by Michelin-reared chef Frédéric Chabbert and his wife Evangeline. It remains one of the more loved restaurants in Antwerp, and the premises also house a sleek and quite white fish restaurant (Dôme sur mer – see entry), plus a celebrated bakery/patisserie (Dômestic). Located not far from Café Den Draak [see entry], not to mention one of the continent's finest concentrations of art nouveau dwellings. Burlat and Verbeke closed the restaurant in December 2016, reopened July 2017 by Chabbert. Closed Sunday and Monday.
