Philip's Biscuits

(2 Ratings)
Anyone for top-quality biscuits?

That's a right. A biscuit specialist. A very good one. Opened in 1995 by Flemish baker Philip De Cort, this Antwerp institution looks and feels a lot older than it really is, its warm glow perfectly complementing the golden offerings, including more than a dozen varieties of lovely biscuit, from fennel-flavoured to spicy. The ginger-snap-like cinnamon Kletskoppen are recommended, as is the perfectly textured and tasty signature Antwerpse Handjes (Antwerp hands), referring to local folklore legend about a hero Brabo who severed the hand of a very unpleasant giant. In February 2013 the shop shifted along the same street from number 11 to 39. Plus outlets at Hoogstraat 2-4 (Antwerp) and at Grote Markt 25 (in Mechelen).
