Bakkerij Goossens

(1 Rating)
Olde-worlde busy busy bakery

An Antwerp institution, and one that's easy to spot with its never-ending queue of customers out front, Goossens is a tiny and pleasingly analog-feeling bakery that goes back to 1884. The small whole wheat raisin bread is the signature item here, but the eclairs, danish and other similarly unfussy but yummy baked goods are worth the trip and wait. And the probably overworked seasoned servers know what they're doing and keep the queue moving along with a smile. Located just a few minutes south of the cathedral, not far southwest of the Meir shopping street.
