Opened in 1974 as the Esso Motor Hotel (quaint), this 262-room four-star-plus business-orientated hotel is very busy during the week, with cheaper prices during the quieter weekend period – a neat twist that makes it moderately attractive for clubbing purposes. Rooms are designer-conventional and marked by vibrant colours, with remodelling completed in September 2017. Facilities include pool, gym, sauna and wellness area. Located in the south, with easy bus and tram connections to the city centre (about five minutes away). Taxi rank out front, and there are bicycles to rent. Back in 2017 this was one of three hotels listed as offering a deal in conjunction with Cargo Club/Red & Blue in 2017, guaranteeing free entry to the club (along with De Keyser Hotel and Theater Hotel).
