Kouros Sauna (Closed Permanently)

No ratings yet
Suburban and secluded pleasures

Located in the woody residential village Schoten — about nine kilometres northeast of Antwerp but reachable by bus (20 to 25 minutes on the 610) — this multi-faceted facility run by Ed and Rob offers a Turkish bath, two Finnish saunas, pool, large video room, darkroom, labyrinth and 16 cabins. Plus a bar and restaurant and, in the great but shielded outdoors, a pool, whirlpool, terrace, garden and pond, with naked sunbathing an option. As with many of its neighbours, this address was previously a bordello. It then became a straight sauna and in 1990 went all gay, with its current (third) owners taking over in 1998. Said farewell in December 2020 – a casualty of the pandemic.
