KMSKA (Royal Museum of Fine Arts, Antwerp) CLOSED UNTIL 2018 *

Major art museum closed until 2018
Antwerp's biggest and finest art museum, opened in 1890 in the southwestern Zuid area of the city, is closed for extensive renovation from 2010 until late 2018 (pushed back from 2017). But many of the 7600 paintings, sculptures, drawings and prints in a collection that dates from the mid-14th century to 1970 – including Flemish Primitives, Peter Paul Rubens and the Baroque, Henri De Braekeleer and the Flemish expressionists, Belgian locals James Esnor and Rik Wouters – can be seen temporarily in situ inside the cathedral and in other locations in the city and beyond, as detailed on the website.
